Thanks to you all in the CG for your dedication to protectng U. S. national interests as wll as saving lives and property

Love your channel and what you do! When I was an enlisted kid in Toledo, on the Tupelo, a nice lady and her daughter used to feed us on her porch and chat with us. Cannot remeber her name but she was great and so was her little daughter (about 12 y.o. then). I mustanged trough the reserve and retired LCDR in 1999. I was the Group Personnel Strength Officer of group Detroit which sent PS303 and then PS302 from Cleveland. I would have gone with them but I was a bit senior, so they sent me to Washington to be the Decedent Affairs Officer for the war - thank god we didn't lose anyone!

You have really done a great job with your website, I enjoy it. Thanks

BMC Larry Jordan, USCG (ret 73')

I'd like to express my appreciation for you amazing site! I just recently found it and have spent hours perusing the amazing footage you have posted. I myself am in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and can't say enough how much of a positive tribute your site pays to the Auxiliary and active duty. Keep up the good work!

I'd love to see more video on motor lifeboat crews, perhaps an expansion of your feature "Wave Warriors". Also, a "Get To Know" episode on Station Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco, Washington would provide an interesting glimpse into a day at one of the busiest and biggestt SAR stations in the Coast Guard. Running up to about 400 cases a year, this station boasts some pretty rough surf too.

Thanks,

John Kopp

I'm at Station Alexandria Bay. I have been in the USCG since 1996. I just found out about this web site and it is great!!

Thanks for your hard work.

You guys ROCK! I was denied entry into the Coast Guard years ago because of eyesight, but the USCG is close to my heart. I have an adopted nephew serving at Galveston, and my Best Friend just came off of Port Security Reserve duty last year. I do not have cable TV so this is a true blessing to keep up with MY branch of service. I am a Security Professional. I was employed as a Terminal Security Manager for Delta Airlines at Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport. I was on duty on 9/11/01 when our world changed. That’s when I decided to devote my career to Security and Homeland Defense. The Coast guard is the ultimate homeland defender. It is truly wonderful to be able to see our Coasties do what they do best. defend the Homeland. Thank You for providing this service. If I could add anything, it would be 24 hour streaming of the Coast Guard Channel for those of us who don’t have cable. Keep up the great Work!

Scott B. Turner

Greetings;
I can't wait until [Wave Warriors] is available- my son was trying to decide between serving in the Air Force or the Coast Guard like his dad (I am a retired CWO3 Boatswain). One look at that trailer and he made his decision on the spot!! He said that video was better than any of my old "sea stories".

Keep up the great work!!!

Timothy Wyand, CWO3 (BOSN), retired

What a great website! Thanks for bringing us news about the Coast Guard
that we can't get anywhere else! They deserve the recognition!

dear CGC, i really liked the trailer for medical emergencies at sea. I saw one on storm Stories, where the Coast Guard airlifted a woman with appendicitis off a boat to a hospital. That is my favoirte story. I was going to ask you if you could have a series like that, but you beat me to the punch. I can't wait to see the series because, knowing you people, it will be totally awesome. Keep up the good work.

sincerely, carrie985

I think that you are doing a bang up job. I was too young to for WWII however, as I lived on the coast of New England, our boy scout troop would walk beach patrol along the rocky shore with the new coasties assigned to the local surf station. The new men assigned to the station we always getting lost when first assigned to walk the beach. Of course us kids knew every rock and bush along the shore. One of the great stories of WWII and the Coast Guard is about the CGC Escanaba and troop transport Dochester with the four chaplins. I am not sure if anyone is still alive who was on that ship. There is a memorial to the four chaplins at Valley Forge. Keep up the good work.

Richard F. Goward Commander USCG Ret

Just today came onboard and had to send the e-mail to other coasties. Having retired in 1980 after 27 years, it's great to be able to again go to sea. Great action in videos, great site, best of luck,

I was so impressed with your website, that I just gave it to 7 of my old shipmates from the original Mackinaw & members of my CG Auxiliary Flotilla. Served aboard 3 of the 86 cutters built for CG during WWII plus one that was built
for the Navy (Unimac) which was sunk by the Navy off the coast of Virginia. The Mackinaw & Sundew
are now Maritime Museums. Love your weekly newscasts and the videos. This is a wonderful place for all Coasties.

I really enjoy your Coast Guard News Channel. Keep up the GREAT work.

I wanted to express appreciation for your continuing support for the CG. As a Coast Guardsman stationed aboard Camp Lejeune, a Marine Base it is tough to get any recognition for the continuing challenges that the CG faces. Our Marine brethren continue to suffer heavy losses in Iraq which foreshadow heavily on the CG even being there. It is good to see people bringing this into the light and not losing hope on the CG and It’s every day jobs. Thanks again and I will be watching more of the CGC.

You have done an excellent job… shows the complexities faced by regular Coast Guard petty officers during routine operations.

Well Done

Bruce: Absolutely outstanding! As an ex-Coastie, I can appreciate each and every second of video and the stories associated with the photos and the articles. Kudos on a job extremely well done!

Susan CGC: Thank you!

Bruce: Now if only you can figure a way to extract the nostalgia pangs that contuinue for hours after each newsletter and video viewing.....

Be safe and thanks again.

How I enjoy the new site, and the rescue gave you goose bumps, watching and listening. What a hero!

Hello,

The mentioned article ["Rock and a Hard Place"] was essentially an excerpt from Mr. Wallings' excellent book, "Blood Stained Sea: The U.S. Coast Guard in the Battle of the Atlantic". Once you pick up this book, you cannot put it down. When I finished the volume, I gave a copy to my Dad, who was a "Coastie" during this era, from 1941-1961.

Thanks - I can't wait for Mr. Wallings' next book.

Respectfully,

Congrats are in order. It is about time someone has a site for us “coasties”. Outstanding all around. I served on a 210 foot class as a radioman, I don’t believe all of them are still around. Great duty. Keep up the good work.

Ken Franklin

The website is fantastic! It's almost 55 years since I was on active duty aboard the CGC Mackinaw and after watching this site makes you wish you were young enough to again be part of it.

Art Coyle

GREAT site and long overdue. You're doing us all a terrific service!
Thanks again from an ole Coastie

Congratulations on the dazzling and robust Coast Guard Channel. Lots of great information and entertainment. Most important, the USCG is receiving the recognition it deserves for its fine service to the country.

Hi Susan, have just come up on the net and........... WOW......... here 'tiz......up and running. Superb job! Called the local CG Sta and passed the net address to them. They were quite enthused. Looking forward to the keeping up on the latest happenings. Thanks.

An outstanding video. Something like this used in recruiting will show prospective recruits that the Coast Guard has some of the same intense and rewarding training that is found in the other services. BRAVO ZULU.

I opened my e-mail this morning when I got to work and was greeted by an invitation to your site. I must tell you with all the sincerity that I was moved to tears. Your organization and website tell a great story and are a blessing to those of us who served “So That Others May Live”.

I am hoping that Santa will get me some of the videos from your site for my stocking at Christmas.

Your "Women on the Eagle" video looks great!

Love that background music too!

It appears from your email/site that things are going well for your company. Sincerely hope it only gets better. On a personal note I want to say that your depiction of "The Guard" is very well done. While at "Cape D" I was exposed to many film crews both foreign and domestic and yours was the best (and the ONLY ones) that were ever invited to a keg party!!(LOL!)
