These are some of our more frequently asked questions. if you don't find the answer you are looking for, please contact us.

What is the site owner’s connection with the Coast Guard?
Tam O’Connor Fraser, one of the founders of the Coast Guard Channel, has had a life-long fascination with the Coast Guard. Although he was prevented from being an active duty Coastie, he combined his passion with his vocation when he and his partner developed the “Coast Guard” TV Series in 1994. That was just the start of the company’s association with Coast Guard-related programming.

Why have you changed your name from Coast Guard Rescues to the Coast Guard Channel?
When we originally launched Coast Guard Rescues, it was as a result of our association with the motion picture, “The Guardian.” We wanted to connect our real stories with the fictionalization that was depicted in “The Guardian.” As our vision solidified, we realized that the name Coast Guard Rescues was too limiting. The new name and brand is in recognition of the wider mission that the Coast Guard performs.
