These are segments of the DVD "Sundew: Life Aboard a U. S. Coast Guard Cutter". The Sundew, nicknamed "The Superior One" was decommisioned after 60 years of service and is now part of the Great Lakes Floating Maritime Museum in Duluth, Minnesota. It's the only one of its kind open to the public. This series takes you through her history and then into her day-to-day missions. The producer, Don Hermanson, shows you what life is like aboard this 180-foot USCG buoy tender as the crew performs its Aids to Navigation work along Lake Superior's North Shore. You can purchase the DVD from Keweenaw Video Productions. |
